birthday ...

Yesterday was Ullis birthday and we had a private birthday party in "The Cellars Hohenort". Miguel Chan, the master of drinks in this gorgeous Relais and Chateau Hotel in Cape Town, stunned us with a 7-course tasting menu and 9 different wines (and 1 vodka).

Back in Cape Town

After 2 weeks of "exhausting" holiday we are now back in Cape Town.
It is really hard to describe all our adventures and I will just post some pictures.

Short description:
We started our trip on Monday 2 weeks ago and headed for Langebaan up the West coast. Afterwards we drove on the R62 eastwards till Port Elizabeth and the Addo Elephant Park, then the South coast back stopping at Plettenberg Bay, Knysna, Mossel Bay, Cape Aghulas and the weekend we have been in Kleimond near Hermanus at Stiaans parents place.

But just have a look and be jealous!!!

holiday ...

The first week of our holiday is over and we had an absolutely gorgoeus time.

Langebaan, Tulbagh, Robertson, Brandrivier, Outshoorn, ... had been some of our stops on the way eastwards on the R62.

Currently we are stealing some bytes form a nice unsecured network in Plettenberg Bay and that is the reason why I can not write a long post. But I will update the Blog with pics and our adventures next weekend.

In the meantime ... stay well!
Cheers,
Franz

Welcome Potjie ...

Today we had the welcome party for Ulli. Potie (sprich: Beuki) from Chicken and Kudu and a lot of wines. South African and Austrian wines enjoyed us during this gorgeous afternoon.
Again I have to say  I love the South African winter. 20 deg ... sunshine .. wine  .. Potjies ...

The next 2 weeks we will be on the road but I´ll try to keep you up to date.

Cheers!
Ulli and Franz

Last day ...

Today was my last day at work and it was nice. The sun is shining again and I hope the weekend will be sunny too.

Tomorrow I will fetch Ulli from the the airport and then our holiday may start. Actually we are leaving on Monday morning up the West coast heading for the West Coast National Parc.

I am not exactly sure if we have Internet all the time but I´ll try to update the Blog regullary.

In the meantime, enjoy your summer and I will enjoy my "winter" holiday.

rain, rain ... and yes again ... rain

Today is Sunday and it is the 4th day in a row with rain. The weather forecast was actually pretty precise. Rain, storm, floodings, ... but we had 19 deg on Wednesday. That is winter in Cape Town. Rain and sun to equal parts.

Next week is my last working week at KC and then ... 1 month!!!! holiday in South Africa. Ulli is arriving on Saturday morning and we will go up the West coast, then the little Karoo till Port Elizabeth and afterwards back the South coast. But we will just hit the road on Monday and then we will see ...

I have taken some pics during the week:

back in the cellar

I am back in the cellar again to help "Schlecht" (that is the nickname of the frenchman given by the cellar workers, I don´t need to explain it, or??) as Regi and Adam are both on leave for the rest of the week.

It is quite nice to be in the cellar this week as a pretty big storm from the South pole will hit the Cape region today. Weather forecast for the next days: heavy rainfalls, strong winds and the swell of the sea is supposed to be 5m an more (the surfers are going to have fun!!)

Next week is my last week at work ... yehaa .. holiday I am coming!!
